It is reported that the fitness center is closing due to financial reasons and there is uncertainty surrounding what will become of the facility after it is closed.
Closing because of financial reasons can only mean one thing:
Public interest has shifted.
Fitness centers are one of the most popular businesses in America these days, but most people do not want to pay top dollar for a membership they may only use on occasion. Local fitness centers that aren't part of a business chain could potentially become more successful than gym corporations like YMCA.
Local gyms normally charge less for a membership than franchise gyms, so it's not a big surprise to see something like a YMCA closing due to financial reasons.
This might not be the case behind Atlee Station's YMCA closing, but it is safe to assume that local fitness centers might receive more business this coming October.
Atlee Station Family YMCA will close effectively on October 3.
