Yesterday evening marked the end of the 2014 FIFA World Cup that has had most of the world's population glued to their televisions and potentially destroying countless household objects in the event of elating victories or grizzly defeats.
The internet has been buzzing about players and comedic game events, and the fans have been awaiting the climactic finale of this exhilarating affair.
After 24 years, Germany finally reclaimed their World Cup title by battling Argentina in a tense game that resulted a 1-0 score in favor of Germany.
The crazy part of this game was that the first goal wasn't scored until extra time was given at the end of the game. That's one heck of a nail biter.
It's been nearly impossible to ignore any type of news from the World Cup. Game scores or players were given special trends on Facebook and Twitter while television commercials or radio broadcasts mentioned events of the games daily.
I didn't avidly follow the events of the World Cup, mainly because I'm more of a football fan. However, it has been entertaining to see the world come together to enjoy something that is relatively non-violent but competitive at the same time.
I'm now counting down the days until the 2016 Summer Olympics.
